Catalepsy are a band from Florida that plays a form of music that I would describe as being deathcore mixed with metalcore and industrial and this is a review o their 2011 album "Bleed" which was released by Massacre Records.
Drums range from slow to midpaced drumming with some ocassional fast playing and blast beats being used on one song, while the samples bring an industrial feel to the music with some noisy sounding samples, as for the ass playing it has a dark tone that is mixed down low in the music and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm uitars range from slow to midpaced riffs that are very brutal sounding and combine deathcore with metalcure, death metal and industrial w ith a great amount of distortion in addition there is some faster riffing being used on one song and there little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are a mixture of deep death growls, high pitched screams, and distorted vocals and unlike most deathcore albums there are no pig squels present on this recording, while the lyrics cover mythology with some hateful themes, as for the production it has a very heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Catalepsy are a very good deathcore/metalcore/industrial hybrid and if you are looking for a band that mixes these styles together, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Faithless" "Cthonian' "Medusa" and "Consumed". RECEMMONDED BUY.
