Halahkuh are a band from India that plays a very melodic form of death/thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Desecration".
The ep starts out with some dark sound effects and clean guitars and a few seconds later drums and bass guitars start to kick in which also leads to a heavier direction along with some melodic solos and after the intro the music goes into a more melodic thrash direction.
Once the growls and screams are added in the music starts incorporating more death metal elements and combining them with 80's thrash as well as adding in elements of groove and the solos bring a great amount of melody to the ep.
Halahkuh take an old school thrash metal sound and mix it in with the heaviness of death metal as well as having some melodic Swedish influences along with some elements of groove in their slower stuff and all of this even ups to some very decent sounding melodic death/thrash metal.
Song lyrics cover the legend of Genghis Khan and his descendant Hulagu Khan, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this ep.
In my opinion Halahkuh are a very decent sounding melodic death/thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ordeal" and "In Extremis". 7/5 out of 10.
