Tennessee Murder Club are a band from South Dakota that plays a very heavy and brutal form of gore/death metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Human Harvest" which was released by Nailjar Records.
The album starts out with a dark sounding intro and nature sounds before going into a heavy and brutal sound with deep growls and morbid sounding melodies coming out of the guitar leads before going into a faster direction along with some blast beats as well as mixing slow and fast parts together.
As the album progresses there a lot of OSDM elements added in along with a brief use of spoken word parts and the music also brings in some very powerful sounding bass guitars along with a small amount of synths which also bring an epic sound to the instrumental before the music returns to its heavier roots and there is a lot of originality being utilized on this recording.
Tennessee Murder Club show a lot off diversity with their music they bring in a mixture of old school and brutal death metal together along with some synths that add an atmospheric and experimental edge to their sound as well as utilizing a good amount of melody and there are also some quest appearances from members of Deicide, Origin, Dim Mak and WarFather.
Song lyrics cover horror and gore themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Tennessee Murder Club are a very great sounding mixture of brutal and old school death metal along with some original elements and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band and album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Birth of A Martyr" "Human Harvest" and "Widowmakers". 8 out of 10.
