D.A.M are a band from Brazil that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2016 ep "Premonitions".
Tragic sounding keyboards start off the ep which also leads up to more of a heavier and symphonic musical direction before adding in some melodic riffing and screams that take the music more into a death metal direction and clean singing can also be heard in the music at times while the solos and leads are done in more of a classic metal style with a touch of neo-classical.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music also mixes in a lot of prog and modern metal elements and the vocals also use growls at times along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length and violins are also brought into the music at times and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and as the ep progresses black metal influences and female vocals can also be heard briefly and the last track also introduces classical guitars into the music.
D.A.M plays a style of death metal on this recording that is very melodic, progressive and symphonic like the previous recordings while also bringing in a touch of black metal this time around, the production sounds very professional fro being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Occultism and the Dark Side Of The Mind.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from D.A.M and if you are a fan of symphonic and melodic death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Cage (Breaking The Paradigms)" and "Changing the Directions (Unresolved)". 8 out of 10.
