Upcoming Devastation Interview

1. For or those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

-Upcoming Devastation was born in O CarballiƱo, Ourense (Spain) in Summer 2009. The group is formed by teenagers between 14 and 17 years old. They had the idea to create a extreme metal group with influences from other styles, guttural vocals, crushing guitars and accelerated blast beats.
Their Music is influenced by the aggressiveness of grindcore and it has a huge influence of BRUTAL DEATH METAL which is their favourite Music.

2. How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recordings?



-the sound we want to show is brutal death metal with space tones

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

-Our lyrical topics are a sample of misanthropy, anti religion with a space and gore touch and a criticism directed to how human being subject his planet.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Upcoming Devastation'?

-Our music and lyrical topics try to predict what will happen to this world if people don’t change their way to treat this planet. It only carries devastation.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Our best show? We guess that the best show was in O Porto, Portugal.

6. Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Yes, we have something planned. If all works alright we’ll have a European tour in this summer, but we can´t promise nothing yet neither say a date. But we’ll strive to make it possible.

7. According to the Metal Archives page the band is signed to 'Blood, Fire Death Promotion, & Management', can you tell us a little bit more about this label?

we do not work years ago with that label for reasons that we will not say

8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of brutal death metal and grindcore?

pretty well where the support is more in Asia and Latin America, in Spain nobody supports us but we have more support outside


9. Are any of the band members also involved with any other bands or musical projects?

No, at the moment no.

10. When can we expect another full length album and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

for now we will publish singles in digital format, but do not rule out publishing an LP in the future.

11. What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

in the past we hear bands like, necrophagist, dying fetus, today we hear brutal death more modern abominable putridty or wormed.

12. What are some of your non musical interests?

the singer likes sculpture, the drummer like politic themes, the guitarist like the mastering, recording and mixing, and bassist like the boxing.

13. Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
