The Hypothesis are a band from Finland that plays a very modern and melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Origin" which will be released in May by Inverse Records.
Synths and electronic music sounds start off the album before going into a more modern and heavier metal musical direction while also mixing in with the electronic elements at times and after awhile death metal growls and screams make their presence known on the recording and melodic singing can also be heard at times.
Elements of groove metal can be heard in some parts of the songs and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody and when t he music speeds up a small amount of blast beats can be heard while t he riffs get more melodic as the recording progresses and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful and some tracks also bring in a small amount of clean guitars while the synths also get very symphonic at times.
The Hypothesis plays a style of melodic death metal that is very modern and also mixes in elements of electronic music which also makes the songs stand out a bit more, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion The Hypothesis are a very great sounding modern melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Leak" "Exit" and "Weak Story". 8 out of 10.
