Dead Edition Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Cheers everyone! We are Dead Edition from Kiev, Ukraine. We play modern/groove metal since 2013.

2.In February you had released on ep, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

We've got a mix of really powerfull guitar sound, agressive drums, badass distorted bass and melodic parts.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

Our lyrics is mostly about the problems of modern society.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Dead Edition'?

We still can find some meaning in this name but to be honest it's just a band name. We have something to say to the world but it's not in our band name, it's inside of our music.

5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Probably our best live show was the presentation of our album, we've got some special synergy that night. Besides that we played in Kiev clubs before the ep release.

6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

Yes, we have some tour plans: we want to visit some Ukrainian cities and hope to visit Europe this summer.

7.Currently the band is signed to 'Farn Black Productions', can you tell us a little bit more about this label?

This is a young label owned by our bassist. It was created just several months ago and is specialized on such genres as black metal, doom metal, ritual ambient, sometimes ethnic and oriental music and so on. Dark and evil. It was an exception for Dead Edition since the owner of the label is a band member.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of melodic death or groove metal?

Not only MDM and groove fans listen to our music, the feedback from all metal fans is very good so far.

9.When can we expect a full length album and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

We are working on some new songs but now we are concentrated more on the promotion of Network Failure. Maybe after the tour we will make something new.

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

We all listen to very different music: from progressive to brutal death and black metal. Main influence for me as for a songwriter comes from Machine Head, Trivium, Arch Enemy and Sepultura.

11.What are some of your non musical interests?

Our drummer is a cooker, bassist is a software engineer but for me music is my everything, I study in music college on classic guitar.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks for the interview, cheers to all fans of metal music, support our band and stay metal!
