Chine/Immanent/2016 CD Review

Chine are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  plays  a  very  melodic  form  of death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2016  album  "Immanent".

Dark  sounding  synths  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  melodic  riffing  making  its  presence  known  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  leads  up  to  a  heavier  musical  direction  along  with  some  screaming  and  growling  vocals  and  the  solos  and  leads  also  stick  to  a  very  melodic  style  of  death  metal  and  the  music  also  sounds  very  modern.

All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful sound  to  them  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  some  classical  guitars  being  utilized  briefly  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  last  track is  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

Chine  plays  a  style  of  melodic  death  metal  is  more  more  closer  to  the  modern  day  form  of  the  genre,  the  production  sounds  very professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover  dystopian  themes.

In  my  opinion  Chine  are  a  very  great  sounding  melodic  death metal band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Floating"  "I  Forgive  You"  and  "Immanent".  8  out  of  10.

Life's December/Fatigue/Dark Wings/2016 Full Length Review

Life's  December  are  a  band  from  Switzerland  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  down  tempo  form  of  deathcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Fatigue"  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  Dark  Wings.

A  very  dark  sounding  intro  starts  off  the  album  along  with some  distorted  spoken  word  parts  and  clean  playing  while  black  metal  screams  can  also  be  heard  briefly  before  adding  in  death  metal  growls  and  djent  elements  and  there  is  also  a  small  amount  of  whispers  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

Melody  and  death  metal  elements  can  be  heard  in  the  music  at  times  while  the  vocals  bring  in  more  of  a  growling  hardcore  approach  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  technical   fashion    and  clean  guitars  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  pig  squeals  and  as  the  album  progresses  synths  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  songs  while a  later  track  introduces  female  vocals  onto  the  recording  and  the  last  song  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

On  this  recording  Life's  December  get  more  diverse  while  also  sticking  to  the  down  tempo  style  of  deathcore  and  djent  from  previous  releases  but  also  adding  in  some  death  and  black  metal  elements  and  technical  playing  to  take  their  style  to  another  level,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  angry  and  real  life  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Life's  December  and  if you  are  a  fan  of  djent  and  deathcore,  you  should check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Second  Life"  "Worthlesser"  "Construct"  and  "Sleepless".  8 out  of  10.

The Franks Daredevils Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
1-The Franks Daredevils is a project of mine , I wrote, played, did the vocals have recorded everything, except for the drums on the album,  in my tiny studio. The drums were recorded in Netherlands by Arnaud Krakowka in his studio!
This is a project which the lyrics make you think, or I mean that was the goal, I don't know  if I make people think, I'm planting seeds of  doubt and just hope that people will  search a bit on what I’m saying in my  songs. T.F.D. is a weird experience, I mean by that, the music goes to many styles mixed with loud guitars and metal voices and  some controversial theme like 9/11, freemasonry etc.But now I'm like heading more for  metal  music , which is the style I prefer, because  I Met Arnaud on the Web and really, he was the guy I needed for the drums!

2.Recently you have released an album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?
2-Inspired by Metal of the 80's & 90's which is a  blend of Thrash,Death, Black, hardcore & power metal! I mean I prefer to let people who listen  the album to judge it, for myself  I would say that I'm playing metal music that's it!   But I will   let people who listen this album judge it by themselves because who is better judge than the fans  and  people  who  buy music!

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
3- Mental illness,Alcoholism,Murder, Post-traumatic syndrome,Chemtrails, H.A.A.R.P., Aliens, Freemasonry,Bohemian Grove ceremony,Agenda 21 and September 11 in other words ...Hot topics...

4.Originally the band was known as 'Hell's Fire Club 666', what was the decision behind the name change and also the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'The Franks Daredevils'?
4-In May 2011 I changed the name HFC666 to "The Franks Daredevils" because the Hell Fires Club*  was too related to the  Illuminatis!
Anyway if you start to search a bit, you'll see it's really of Freemasonry of highest rank like 29th to 33rd degree...
So this is the reason why I changed the name in May 2011.
I mean  my Grandfather R.I.P. was Freemason, he talked to me  about  them ...And I did my own research too,so it convinced me  to change the name   because I just not wanted to be related to them...
When I choose TFD I was only thinking about  honesty(Frank) and being intrepid (Daredevil) and I was thinking maybe to add members so this is the reason why it's at the plurals but it's not about those movies DAREDEVIL hahaha I'm not a fan  of those movies   and you know the worst a guy told me  " cool name man   me too  I'm fan too of Frank Daredevil of those movies, I was like  huh,  what are you talking about man? I saw the movies and    I was like  holy s**t!

5.Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you planning on expanding the line up in the future or do you chose to remain a duo?
5-Maybe on Albums  remains a duo  but I wanted to have a live line-up too! Only the future  will  tells Us,but I don't know ,I mean if I met the good ones  why not adding them  too on albums!

6.On the album you also had done a cover of Pantera's  'Cowboys From Hell', what was the decision behind doing your own version of this song?
6-Because ,first  I always loved that song  !It remembers me  when  I was young with my friends,  smoking  you know what  after high school and listening Cowboys From Hell album on ours yellow Sony Walkmans!! And second reason, Arnaud had already the drums recorded, so it gaves me more reasons to do it!
And 3rd , I'm big fan of Pantera and Dimebag Darrell's work so it was like a public homage to him!

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death and thrash metal?
7- Not so bad, because  you know   not everybody write when they likes it  but when  they hate it    , you know it fast and  I have to be happy because so far  I haven't received  bad critics,I have some fans outside Canada  in México,USA, Colombia,Germany,Thailand I know  because I have  spoke to them or sold them a cd  ,at least two in Poland  to release my album on their label Via Nocturna(thanks a lot Fabian & Piotr )maybe in other countries too , I don't know!

8.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?
8-Arnaud is playing with Sins and their debut  EP is now available !For my part  I'm in Broken Criteria(Ontario,Canada) on the vocals only , and I concentrate myself on The Franks Daredevils   next album!

9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
9-Live with some musicians, touring  and recording many other songs!

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
10-A classical death metal band named "Possessed" and their epic album "Seven Churches.” Metallica(until the black Album), Megadeth, Slayer, Morbid Angel,Brujeria,Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Angeles Del Infierno, B.A.R.F., Overbass, Grim Skunk,Despised Icon, Cannibal Corpse ,Vital Remains, Deicide,Cradle Of Filth,Dimmu Borgir,Iron Maiden,Diabolical Masquerade,King Diamond+Mercyful Fate,Exhumed, Kreator,Darkthrone,Anthrax, Stormtroopers of Death( S.O.D.), Rhapsody, Testament, Blind Guardian and many more. If I list every band that I've listened and them  that I'm listening now, I will fill 3 pages!!

11.Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in your music?
11- Yes & No at the same time , because I don't do black Masses, I'm not member of any satanist or occult group or movement but I believe in both powers, Good and Evil  and I don't know where I listen that  but pure isn't  one person  it's many  , its inside  everyone  like   our  good part! Good and Evil forces are in the world  that we cannot see but influences a lot in ours! I interest myself a lot into rituals, religions  Freemasonry and for sure satanism  & occultism with Aleister Crowley ,a guy to know for many reasons, Anton Szandor LaVey,Heinrich Himmler & the VRIL Society, ok he was a nazi , just there he 's a weird guy but  when  you know  about  Vril Society, you see that he was very but a very weird guy...

12.What are some of your non  musical interests?
12-I have a wonderful wife, really comprehensive and a little boy who is a metal music lover of 3 years old  and my courses begins again next monday.
I'm in my last year/session of learning Mechanical Engineering/Machinist so it's keeps me  busy a lot those days!
I interest myself a lot  in the pyramids everywhere in the world  like  the ones underwater in Japan,in the Bermuda's triangle too underwater pyramids.Aliens & the Universe, Freemasonry/Illuminati,on what really happened on Sept.11 2001. Area 51,Dulce Base.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
13-Have fun listening metal music and if it's mine  it's better! hahah
Question everything , don't take nothing for cash even more when it's from the Government!Follow the money!
I think the biggest cancer of society is Freemasonry, they are everywhere,in every political parties ,in every countries, this is a plague...
I wanted to thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to speak here!

Krylithsic Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
- Tech, speed and brutality loving three piece from Berlin, Germany.

2.So far you have released an ep and a demo, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on both of the recordings and also how do they differ from each other?
- We try to develop our own style since the very beginning of Krylithsic. The EP “Leech Of The Parasite” already gathers all the elements that are typical for our sound, like complex rhythm pattern, long instrumental parts and some odd vocal pattern. While the songwriting on “Leech…” is very straight and guitar orientated “Beast Of The Northern Hemisphere” is more varied and pushes everything one-step further to evolve our style. The new songs are faster and more complex by enhancing the old trend marks. The “over all sound” also changed to a more “modern” type of metal. This has a lot to do with the much better production we got this time!

3.The band has been around since 2009 but so far have only put out 2 releases, can you tell us a little bit more about the gaps in between recordings?
- It’s the same old shit, so we just can give you the same lame ass answer as everybody: work, family, money.

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
- Brutal, violent and self-destructive behavior of the human race.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Krylithsic'?
- The letters C,H,I,I, (the II could also be interpreted as “2”) K,L,R,S,T and Y are connections to several murders in German. The murders were committed in the 80s. The case was never resolved. There is no evidence available how the letters relate and what they meant, relating to the murders .The Word “Krylithsic” is our interpretation of how the letters could have been brought to a sequence. The whole EP deals with this shit.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
- We just try to hit the place as hard as we fuckin’ can, you know? That’s what Death Metal is all about. For us the best shows are the really small “Sweat-from-the-ceiling”-Gigs and of course underground festivals like the Fuck the Commerce.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
- We are currently lining up a little tour. We hope everything comes together as planned.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
- Yes, we are looking for a label! So hit us up!

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of technical and brutal death metal?
- We received really good feedback for “Beast…”! The reactions have shown that we are more on the brutal site of Death Metal. Fans of Technical Death Metal don´t seam to be very impressed by our “technicallyness”… Its possibly ‘cause of the leak of flashy sweeps and two-hand-tappings. To be honest I prefer to be on the Disgorge-Site rather than on the Obscura-Site.

10.When can we expect a full length album and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
- Writing new song is our main focus at the moment! We want to do a Full Length as fast as possible - hopefully with a label in our back.
The new material is the logical continuation of what you hear on “Beast…”. So stay tuned, Mother sickers

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
- Oh we don’t know, its all kinds of shit, we can´t even start to think about it. Everybody in the band got their own influences. But we got one thing in common, we like to hear twisted shit.

12.What are some of your non musical interests?
- Wrapping ourselves in bubble wrap … aaaaaaaand alcohol, …but mainly the bubble wrap thing.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
BUY! OUR! SHIT! – Just kidding, you can download the Promo for free, so there is no excuse why it doesn’t end up on your hot stepmoms iPod or your grandmothers HiFi at her nursing home.

In  my  opinion  this is  another  great  sounding recording  from  Escarnium  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  death  metal with  a  blackened  touch,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "While  The  Furnace  Burns"  "Radioactive  Doom"  "Genocide  Ritual"  and  "Human  Waste".  8  out  of  10.

Coma Cluster Void Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Coma Cluster Void is a death metal quintet consisting of Mike DiSalvo and Austin Taylor as Vocalists, Chris Burrows on Drums as well as founders Sylvia Hinz on Bass and myself (John Strieder) on Guitars. We started around 2014 with some little demos which got a staggering incredible feedback within the metal community. Shortly after, Mike DiSalvo joined the band, and in 2015 the line-up was completed with Chris Burrows and Austin Taylor. The Intro, Interlude and Outro are performed by XelmYa, which consists of Sylvia Hinz on Double Bass Recorder (as well as singing into the Double Bass Recorder), Alexa Renger on Violin and for this time, I took the Violoncello-part in XelmYa. The enframing spoken words are performed by Genevieve DiSalvo.

2.Recently you have released an album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

A twisted trip into insanity, sound and instrumentation-wise based on Death Metal but bending towards a lot of other genres while stylistically always being just Coma Cluster Void!

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

The lyrics are set into the world depicted on the album cover artwork and circle around the enigmatic Iron Empress, almost like a concept album. Like the music itself branches out in many different directions, so do the lyrics. Take for instance "Drowning Into Sorrow"; Mike's lyrics are heavily laden towards water based expressions, essentially a metaphor for anguish and a depressive state of mind. In fact, all the songs lyrically deal with deep distress, somber regret, and despondency.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Coma Cluster Void'?

It's based on the song title "Lux Aeterna Void" from a predecessing project of mine. It depicts a depressive image of the hoped eternal light being just a void, a black hole. The Coma Cluster of galaxies became a real-world meaning for "Lux Aeterna". Also, Cluster chords are my favourite kind of chords and are used throughout this record (and my music in general) in all different kinds.

5.The band members live in different parts of the world, how does this work out in the recording process?

Usually I write a complete song and then program drums and record guitars as a demo. I send this demo out to Mike DiSalvo, so he gets inspired to add his vocals and write the lyrics (and decides which parts are meant for Austin Taylor); and to Chris Burrows so he gets inspired to add his drums and drum ideas. When the drums are tracked, Sylvia and I retrack our instruments without metronome directly onto Chris' drums and often refine and enrich our parts further. We don't like to quantize drums or ignore the drummer's groove when tracking guitars and bass. We want to be a natural grooving unit. Oddly, our Drummer is the only person in the band using a Metronome and GuitarPro ;) We are constantly communicating during the whole recording process and shape the songs into perfection. Lastly, the vocals are tracked. Mike and Austin have an equal amount of vocals on the record, often backing each other up but also often dueling each other.

6.Currently the band is unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

We had some cool offers, but none of them could release us in 2016. We didn't want to let the fans wait any longer! So we decided to go the entire way on our own. It was a hard decision, especially since our all-time-fave label was one of them. But for the next release, we'll have the luxury to choose more freely what to do.

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your recordings by fans of death metal and avant garde music?

What can I say, the reactions so far have been overwhelming! It's great to see, hear and read that people dig our music. It's also astonishing to feel being understood.

8.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?

During writing this album, I neglected a bit my writing for classical musicians and ensembles ( https://www.facebook.com/john. strieder.composer.artist ), but now I'll focus again on many new works, some of them will be premiered this year. Our drummer's other band Thoren ( https://www.facebook.com/ ThorenDeath ), Austin's band Dimensionless ( https://www.facebook.com/ Dimensi0nless ) as well as Mike's band Akurion ( https://www.facebook.com/ AkurionOfficial/ ) are working on new releases. Sylvia ( https://www.facebook.com/ Sylvia.Hinz.Recorder ) has planned many concerts around the world, solo and with her ensembles. For example, in October she's with XelmYa ( https://www.facebook.com/ XelmYa ) in California, some of my pieces will see world- and US-premieres there. Of the many other project she's pursuing I like to mention her colaboration with the painter Carola Czempik. It's a kind of a feedback loop between paintings inspired by Sylvia's playing, and playing inspired by Carola's paintings. A cool ongoing project, it'll be documented on Sylvia's youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/ sylviahinzrecorder ).

9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

There's a lot of undiscovered territory, and a lot of things we can build upon. We want to continue telling stories about the world of the Iron Empress. It'll be always dissonant, atonal, emotional and extreme - and without any compromises, that's for sure! ;)

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

I grew up with bands like Pantera, Crowbar, Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel; as well as composers like Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg, Anton Webern and György Ligeti. I think one can find in one way or another some echoes of these. Nowadays, I still could listen for the thousandth time to classics like "Clandestine"! My two favourite composers these days are Rebecca Saunders and Brian Ferneyhough. But there are so many more ... in general, I have solely interest in music that is dissonant and extreme, and that's all i search for and listen to. Sylvia on the other hand is performing so much and is surrounded by music all the time, she rarely listens to music at all, haha!

11.What are some of your non musical interests?

When I don't fantasise music, I paint (in an "abstract" manner). I also create artworks for bands, the "Mind Cemeteries" artwork was created by me, too. Art in general interests me, at least such art that I see or hear as an outcry about the bad things in our world, because that is for me the "function" of art, if there has to be one. But other than that, really nothing ;)

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks for the support and the interest in our creations! \m/

Clean  guitars  start  off  the album  along  with  some  synths  in  the  background  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  and  after the intro  both  of  the  riffs  and  leads  go  into  more  of  a  melodic  direction  as  well  as  adding  in  some  metalcore  style  shouting  vocals,  death  metal  growls  and  clear  singing  as  well  as  a  small  amount  of  high  pitched  screams.

All  of  the  musical  instruments on  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  solos  and  leads  also  demonstrate  a  great  amount  of  talent  and  skill and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  pianos  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  blast  beats can  be  heard  while  some  of  the  riffs  bring  in  modern  thrash  elements  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  they  also  bring  in  a  power ballad.

A  almost  silent  drone  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  getting  more  powerful  along  with  a  brief  use  of whispers  and  after  the  intro  the  music  goes  into  more  of  a  heavier,  brutal  and  technical  direction  along  with  some  death  metal  growls  and  when t he  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

Nothing Lies Beyond Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
The band is currently working hard in the studio, due to the separation of our guitar players Guy and Elad, we had to find a new players in a short time and now we are working again on the songs from the album and also some new tunes for our release show of "Fragile Reality" and also for the next shows that will come after that.

2.You got your first album coming out in July, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?
Well the band is influenced by the Swedish melodic scene, bands like 'In flames' or 'At the gates', but we also tried to add some new sounds that will make the album more interesting.
In the end result , the album turn out to be really "classic" melodic death metal album , with fast riffs, melodic choruses and some quiet parts that will remind people of the old melodic death albums that we all loved.
We also tried to add some new moderns sound , that can be heard during the songs in the guitar or drum parts and also in the production and mixing parts.

3.The band has been around since 2011 but waited until 2016 to release an album, can you tell us a little bit more about the first 5 years?

So yes, we've been sort of active since late 2011 but during those 5 first years we had to deal with allot of line up changes inside the band.
I think that until our first gig that happened in late 2012 if I remember correct, we had to part ways with 3-5 members , and that problem really delayed the band progress..
But since the first gig , we had a strong line up and we worked really hard on performing in every occasion that was presented to us , including our top gigs until now, with Children of Bodom and also in the same festival with Dark Tranquiility .
After the show with Children of bodom in 2014 , we decided that it's time to record our first album .

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

Most of the lyrics in the album are talking about some struggles that we have as a human beings.
Relationship problem , or some other difficulties that we need to deal in our lifes..that is why we chose the album title to be "Fragile Reality" , it may be "banal" title , but I do think that it summaries the songs in the album in just 2 words.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Nothing Lies Beyond'?

It's a little bit funny, but our name "Nothing Lies Beyond" was chosen by  mistake.
It was really in the early days of the band, we had only 3-4 songs that we worked on , and in the time, the band music genre was really different , we played more alternative rock songs and covers..
So, back in the day , we had a quiet song with no distortion parts, and we couldn’t  find any singer that matched our genre..so we decided to let the guitar player be the temporary singer just for this quiet song..
And we played it for some time ( during this period, we chose the name  "Hemera" to be the band's name, but later of we saw that there is a band with this name) and in one of the rehearsals, someone just said that there is a cool lyric part in this song that went like "…. And nothing lies beyond" .. and we all sat for a minute after that and realized that "Nothing Lies Beyond" is a really cool band name and it sounds great, so we had a little vote and chose together to be "Nothing Lies Beyond".

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

I think that the top shows that we had until now were the gig that we were the opening act for Children of Bodom, it was the biggest show that we played until now, with 500-600 fans if I remember correctly , and it’s a memory that we will always remember.
There was also the "Metalfest" in Israel , when we were the opening act for big bands from Israel like " Desert" , "Salem" and of course the mighty "Dark Tranquillity".
And I think that beside those shows that were in a massive scale, we really enjoyed playing in a local production that we arranged and had an amazing crowd with us.
As far as our stage performance, we are trying to give everything on stage, so the crowd could enjoy with us.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans once the album is released?

After the album will be released , we are planning to make a big release show that will feature some surprises for our fans.
Beside that , we will arrange some local productions across the country , just to be able to give everybody a chance to hear the music live .
Our goal after the release will be to go on tour in Europe and really to play as much as we can , but I'm guessing it will take some time to make it happen.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

We are definitely looking for a stable and a good label that will believe in our music in the same way we are.
We've received a few offers until now but due to the line up changes after the recording and a few other reasons that wasn't depend on us, nothing ended with us signing with another label.

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of melodic death metal?

Well, on a worldwide level , we've received until now only positive feedbacks on the album , it gives us the drive to keep going on and push the album as much as we can and to every place that we possibly can.
As I said before, the album has really melodic parts  , breakdowns and fast riffs so I honestly think that we can reach more people from other genres then just the melodic death metal fans.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

I think that due to the fact that we needed to part ways with the two guitar players that recorded the album with us, and to the fact that one of them has written the basic foundations for most of the songs, the music for the next album will be a little bit different.
We will still remain a melodic death metal band and we'll try to keep the elements that we made on the album , but maybe in the next album we will try to discover some new genres to combine in the songs.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

As I said before, the band's music style is influenced by the melodic death metal scene from Sweden in most of the songs.
I think that the guitar parts are really influenced by bands like "In Flames" (a band that really influence us in their old albums), or sometimes breakdowns in the songs that will remind you some metalcore bands from the modern time..
We are trying to listen to a variety of music genres,in the guitar players case its bands from the death or progressive or even extreme metal genre..
We take a huge inspiration nowadays also from bands like "Lamb of God" or  "Heaven shall burn"..so to summarize it, we are trying to be open minded about the music that we hear and also about the music that we write.

12.What are some of your non musical interests?

We actually have a variety of things that we are doing in our free time,
Our bass player Alon enjoys photographing and skateboarding on his free time and our guitar player Tal also occupy himself with 3D graphics and video editing from time to time..
And of course everybody loves video games,  we usually organize once a month a "Playstation" tournament and just mess around.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

We want to thank you first of all for the opportunity and for the interview.
We hope that you'll enjoy "Fragile Reality" as much as we enjoyed creating it.
You can like us on Facebook, leave a comment if you have one and even let us know if you want  to hear us live at your hometown and we'll try our best to make it.

Bestial Evil/Infectious Cross/Lost Apparitions Records/2016 CD Review

Bestial  Evil  are  a  band  from  Maryland  that  plays  a  brutal  mixture  of  death  and  thrash  metal  with  a  touch  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Infectious  Cross"  which  was  released  by  Lost  Apparitions  Records.

A  very  heavy  and  aggressive  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  blast  beats  a  few  seconds  later  as  well  as  some  high  pitched  screams  that  bring  in  a  touch  of  black  metal  before  mixing  them  in  with  death  metal  growls  and  the  music  goes  for  more  of  a  brutal  side  of  the  genre  while  also  adding  in  some  melodies.

When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  dark  yet melodic  fashion  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  most  of  the  tracks  are  very  short  in  length  and  the  music  also  brings  in  a  great  amount  of  thrash  influences  and  the  whole  album  also  remains  very  heavy  from  beginning  to  ending  of  the  recording.

Bestial Evil  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  brutal  death  metal  and  mixes  it  with  old  school  thrash  and  a  touch  of  black  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Reptilian  Aliens,  Cannibalism,  Fear  and  Death  themes.

In  my  opinion  Bestial  Evil  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  death  and  thrash  metal  with  some  black  metal  touches  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "From  Carnage  To  Cannibals"  "Draconians"  and  "Infectious  Cross".  8  out  of  10.

Quinte Essentials Of Brutality Vol 1/CDN Records/2016 5 Way Split Review

This  is  a  review  of  a  5  way  split  called  "Quinte  Essentials  Of  Brutality  Vol.  1"  which  will be  released  on  August  12th  by  CDN  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Australia's  Gape  a  band  that  plays  a  band  that  plays  a  brutal  form  of  slam  death  metal.

Their  side  of the  split  starts  out  with  drum  beats  before  adding  in  a  heavy  bass  guitar  sound  as  well  as  some  guttural  death  metal  growls  and  elements  of  slam  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  along  with  some  hardcore  style  shouts  only  on the  first  track  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  melody  while  the  songs  avoid  any  solos  or  leads  and  after  awhile  high pitched  screams  can  be  heard,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics cover  violence  and  porn  themes.

In  my  opinion  Gape  are  not  really  a  band  i  can  get  into  since  they  are  not  bringing  anything  new  to t he  slam  genre,  but  maybe  more  hardcore  fans  of  the  genre  will  enjoy  them.

Next  up  is  Cuff  a  band  from  a  band  from  Canada  that  plays  a  musical  style  they  describe  as  being  sci-fi  slam  grind.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out with  sci  fi  movie samples  before  going  into  more  of  a  brutal  direction  along  with  some  deep  death  metal growls  that  get  very  guttural  at  times  and  the  riffs also  use  a  lot  of  slam  elements  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  grindcore  influences  can  be  heard  and  some  of  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  and  the  music  also gets  technical on  the  last  track  along  with  some  guitar  leads,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics cover  science  fiction  themes.

In  my  opinion  Cuff  are  a  very  decent  sounding  sci-fi  orientated  slam  grind  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out t heir  side  of t he  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Subhuman  Embodiment".

Next  up  is  Urethal  Injection  from  the  United  States  that  plays  a  brutal  form  of  slam  death  metal.

Their  side  of  the split  starts  out  with  a  very  brutal  slam  sound  along  with  some  guttural death  metal  growls  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  brutal  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  samples  and  the  last  song  brings  in  technical  guitar  leads  while  some  melody  can be  heard  along  with  a  touch  of  deathcore,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics cover  gore  themes.

In  my  opinion  Urethal  Infection  are  another  slam  death  metal  band  I  could  not  get  into but  some  people  into  this  genre  more  might  be  able  to  get  into  them.

Next  up  is  Corprophemia  from Canada  a  band  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  technical  form  of  brutal  death  metal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with a  very  fast  and  brutal  sound  along  with  some  blast  beats  and  guttural  death  metal  growls  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  technical  fashion  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  killing,  gore,  flesh  and  dismemberment  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Corpophemia  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  brutal,  technical  and  guttural  death  metal,  you  should  enjoy  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Devoid  Of  Life".

Closing  the  compilation  is  Infected  Cadaver  from  Denmark  a  band  that plays  a  brutal  form  of  death  metal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  heavy  and  brutal  sound  along  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  as  well  as  some  guttural  death  metal  growls  and  grindcore  screams  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  the  riffs  also  using  a  small  amount  of  melody  and  the  songs  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts and  when  guitar  solos  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  fashion  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  violence  and  goe themes.

In  my  opinion  Infected  Cadaver  are  an  ok  band  for  brutal  death  metal  while  the  vocals  are  not  always  my thing.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Human  Sacrifice".

In  conclusion  this  is  a  halfway  decent  split  with  some  bands  I  like  and  some  i  dont  care  for,  but  this  would  be  a  good  album  for  serious  fans  of  brutal  or  slam  death  metal.  6/5  out  of  10.

Infectology/Innards Of Misanthropic Embodiment/Gore House Productions/2016 CD Review

Infectology  are  a  band  from  Ecuador  that  plays  a  very  brutal  and  guttural  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Innards  Of  Misanthropic  Embodiment"  which  will  be  released  on  August  12th  by  Gore  House  Productions.

A  very  fast  and  brutal  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  death  metal  growls  while  some  of the  riffs  also  use  a  small  amount  of  melody  and  the  vocals  also  get  very  guttural at  times  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this recording.

Throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  mid  tempo  sections  also  bring  in  elements  of  slam  and  none  of  the  songs  ever  use  any  guitar  solos  or  leads  and  as  the  album  progresses  an  instrumental  is  added  onto  the  recording  and  the  whole  album  also  always  remains  very  true  to  a  very  heavy  and  brutal  style.

Infectology  plays  a  style  of  death  metal  that  is  very  brutal  while  also  getting  very  guttural  at  times  as  well  as  adding  in  a  touch  of  slam  to  create  a  very  heavy  sounding  recording,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  depravity,  sickness,  torture  and  misanthropy  themes.

In  my  opinion  Infectology  are  a  very  great  sounding  brutal  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Gorging  On  Misanthropy"  "Forced  Unnatural  Carnal  Knowledge"  and  "Inducing  Excruciating  Pain".  8  out  of  10.
