Chariots Of The Gods are a band from Quebec, Canada that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of melodic death metal, metalcore and thrash and this is a review of their self released 2016 album "Ages Unsung".
Clean guitars start off the album along with some synths in the background before going into a heavier direction and after the intro both of the riffs and leads go into more of a melodic direction as well as adding in some metalcore style shouting vocals, death metal growls and clear singing as well as a small amount of high pitched screams.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads also demonstrate a great amount of talent and skill and there is also a brief use of pianos and when the music speeds up blast beats can be heard while some of the riffs bring in modern thrash elements and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and they also bring in a power ballad.
Chariots Of The Gods creates another recording that takes melodic death metal, modern thrash and metalcore and mixes them together to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Science Fiction, Ancient Astronauts and Mythology themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Chariots Of The Gods and if you are a fan of melodic death metal, thrash and metalcore, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Of Prometheus And The Sacred Flame" "War Of The Gods" "Through Darkness And Decay" and "New World". 8 out of 10.
