Fetal Autopsy are a solo project from Oklahoma that plays a very brutal form of gore/death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Backwoods bloodshed" which was released by Meathook Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album and a few seconds later death metal growls make their presence known in the music and the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody at times and some songs also bring in horror movie samples and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
Grim screams can be heard in some parts of the songs and the music also brings in a lot of old school 90's death metal influences and there is also a brief use of female vocals and some of the tracks are long and epic in length and most of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and none of the tracks rarely ever utilize any guitar solos or leads until the last song while there is also a brief use of blast beats and one song also brings in a small amount of spoken vocals and the last track also brings clean guitars onto the recording which is also all instrumental.
Fetal Autopsy plays a style of death metal that is very heavy and mostly mid paced while also having its brutal moments, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror, violence, and gore themes.
In my opinion Fetal Autopsy are a very great sounding gore/death metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Necrotic Fornication" "Sculpted From Flesh" and "Awaiting the Slaughter". 8 out of 10.
