This is a review of a 5 way split called "Quinte Essentials Of Brutality Vol. 1" which will be released on August 12th by CDN Records and we will start off the review with Australia's Gape a band that plays a band that plays a brutal form of slam death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with drum beats before adding in a heavy bass guitar sound as well as some guttural death metal growls and elements of slam and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with some hardcore style shouts only on the first track and there is also a brief use of melody while the songs avoid any solos or leads and after awhile high pitched screams can be heard, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violence and porn themes.
In my opinion Gape are not really a band i can get into since they are not bringing anything new to t he slam genre, but maybe more hardcore fans of the genre will enjoy them.
Next up is Cuff a band from a band from Canada that plays a musical style they describe as being sci-fi slam grind.
Their side of the split starts out with sci fi movie samples before going into more of a brutal direction along with some deep death metal growls that get very guttural at times and the riffs also use a lot of slam elements and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and grindcore influences can be heard and some of the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody and the music also gets technical on the last track along with some guitar leads, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover science fiction themes.
In my opinion Cuff are a very decent sounding sci-fi orientated slam grind band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t heir side of t he split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Subhuman Embodiment".
Next up is Urethal Injection from the United States that plays a brutal form of slam death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very brutal slam sound along with some guttural death metal growls and when the music speeds up a great amount of brutal blast beats can be heard and there is also a brief use of spoken word samples and the last song brings in technical guitar leads while some melody can be heard along with a touch of deathcore, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover gore themes.
In my opinion Urethal Infection are another slam death metal band I could not get into but some people into this genre more might be able to get into them.
Next up is Corprophemia from Canada a band that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very technical form of brutal death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast and brutal sound along with some blast beats and guttural death metal growls and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the guitar solos and leads are done in a very technical fashion and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover killing, gore, flesh and dismemberment themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Corpophemia and if you are a fan of brutal, technical and guttural death metal, you should enjoy their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Devoid Of Life".
Closing the compilation is Infected Cadaver from Denmark a band that plays a brutal form of death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very heavy and brutal sound along with a great amount of blast beats as well as some guttural death metal growls and grindcore screams can also be heard at times along with the riffs also using a small amount of melody and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar solos are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violence and goe themes.
In my opinion Infected Cadaver are an ok band for brutal death metal while the vocals are not always my thing. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Human Sacrifice".
In conclusion this is a halfway decent split with some bands I like and some i dont care for, but this would be a good album for serious fans of brutal or slam death metal. 6/5 out of 10.
i read a lot of stuff and i found that the way of writing to clearifing that exactly want to say was very good so i am impressed and ilike to come again in future..
