Illdisposed are a band from Denmark that started out as a death metal band that has also been interviewed by this zine in the past but have added groove and thrash elements to the new album and this is a review of their 2011 album "There Is Light (But It's Not For Me) which was released by Massacre Records.
Drums range from midpaced to fast with some blast beats, while the keyboards bring an atmospheric and industrial element to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs theat follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitar.
Rhythm guitars range from midpaced to fast riffs that combine thrash, groove and death metal together with some melodies and this is not as death metal sounding as the previous releases that I have heard from the band and it sounds like they went for more of a death'n'roll sound with the new one, while the guitar solos are very melodic sounding guitar solos.
Vocals are a mixture of deep death metal growls and some thrash style screams, while the lyrics cover hateful themes, as for the production it has a very heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion while this is a good album from Illdisposed that grows on you over time some of thei long time fans might be dissapointed, but if you are looking for some good quality metal, you should check out this album. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Our Worlds Betrayed" "Rape" and "Alone". RECEMMONDED BUY.
