Hemoptysis are a band from Arizona that plays a mixture of 80's style thrash metal mixed in with melodic death metal and some some black metal influences and this is a review of their self released 2011 album "Misanthropic Slaughter".
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with some brutal thrash style riffing, as for the synths when they are used briefly they add a dark dimension to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast thrash riffing that has some early 80's black metal influences and some melodic death metal to give the music a modern sound as well as some ocassional slow and soft playing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding lead guitars and solos that have a classic metal feeling to them .
Vocals are mostly high pitched melodic death metal screams and growls that also have a german thrash edge to them, while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes, as for the production it has a mid 80's feeling to it but still professional enough to the point where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Hemoptysis are a very good thrash band with a melodic death metal edge and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Misanthropic Slaughter" "And The World Dies" "Shadow Of Death" and "Hadephobia". RECEMMONDED BUY.
