Unleash The Archers are a band from Vancouver B.C, Canada that mixes power metal with technical thrash and melodic death metal and this is a review of their self released 2011 album "Demons Of The Astro Waste".
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with not much in the way of blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful with alot of influences from classic metal,, as for the synths which are only used briefly on a couple of songs they bring a very dark feel to the music, in addition there is a small amount of pianos being used for a few seconds.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffing that combine influences from power metal, technical thrash, and melodic death metal to create an original sound and at times there is a metalcore feel to the music, while the lead guitars are very melodic and technical sounding guitar solos, as for the accoustic guitars when they are utilized briefly they bring a progressive and classic metal feel to the music.
Vocals range from clean singing femal power metal vocals mixed in with some deep death metal growls and high pitched melodic death metal screams, while the lyrics touch on occutl, sci-fi, and mythology style themes, as for the production it has a very powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Unleash The Archers are a very good power/melodic death metal band and if you are looking for a band that mixes this styles together, you should check out this band.
