Deathfare are a band from Norway that plays a very old school form of brutal death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Shotgun Surgery" which was released by Heathen Tribes Records.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album along with some melodic riffing and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the vocals are mostly death metal growls and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard which also gives the music more brutality.
A lot of 90's influences can be heard in the music while the songs still sound very modern and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some of t he riffs also bring in elements of grindcore and there is also a quest appearance from Attila Csihar which also brings in a touch of black metal as well as a brief use of dogs barking and one track also adds in a few seconds of clean playing and melodic guitar leads are added onto the last track.
Deathfire plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in old school death metal while also mixing in influences of grindcore, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death and violence themes.
In my opinion Deathfire are a very great sounding old school style death metal band with a touch of grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Final Cut" "Kitchen Massacre" "Great Minds Think Like Me" "10.000 Nightmares". 8 out of 10.
