Ligature Wound are a band from the United States that plays a very brutal form of gore/death metal and this is a review of their self titled 2016 ep which was released by Iron, Blood & Death Corporation.
Horror movie samples start off the album and a few seconds later the music goes into a very fast and brutal direction along with some death metal growls and blast beats and the riffs also bring in melodies at times and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while high pitched screams can be heard briefly.
Elements of grindcore can be heard in the faster sections of the songs and the tracks also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and some of the vocals also bring in a touch of black metal and the whole ep also remains heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Ligature Wound plays a style of death metal that is very brutal while also mixing in elements of grindcore and black metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover gore themes.
In my opinion Ligature Wound are a very great sounding brutal death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Undead Of The Night" and "Obsessed With Torture". 8 out of 10.
