Make Me A Donut are a band from Switzerland that plays a progressive mixture of djent and deathcore and this is a review of their 2016 album "Bright Side" which was released by Tenacity Music.
Ambient sounds start off the album along with some ethnic music elements before adding in a very powerful sounding bass guitar and technical guitar leads which also introduces death metal growls, high pitched screams and a huge dose of djent to the music and the songs also keep the atmospheric sounds.
Elements of modern prog metal can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while spoken word parts are added briefly into some of the songs which also use a great amount of melody and there is also a small use of melodic singing and acoustic guitars on some of the tracks and as the album progresses slide guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with a couple of instrumentals and all of the music sticks to either a slow or mid paced musical direction while there is a few seconds of blast beats being utilized..
Make Me A Donut plays a musical style that mixes death metal with djent, metalcore and prog metal to create a style of their own, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion Make Me A Donut are a very great sounding progressive mixture of djent and deathcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Skyline" "II Knowledge" and "Between". 8 out of 10.
