Verment are a band from Ohio that plays a mixture of death metal and deathcore and this is a review of their self released 2016 ep "Death's Domain" which will be released in April.
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the ep along with some death metal growls and all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and high pitched screams can also be heard in some parts of the songs while the solos and leads bring in a great amount of melody.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the songs also bring in a touch of both melodic death and black metal while some songs also mix in slam and deathcore elements and the music is also perfectly balanced between both old school and modern extreme metal influences and a couple of the tracks also bring in a brief use of atmospheric sounds and clean playing while some of the heavier riffs add in a touch of thrash.
Verment plays a musical style that takes the brutal, technical and melodic sides of the genre and add in a touch of black metal, thrash and deathcore to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Vermont are a very great sounding mixture of death metal and deathcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Amon's Wrath" and "Parade Of Filth". 8 out of 10.
