Mythrias are a band from Ohio that plays a melodic mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "Absolving The Treacherous".
A very heavy and melodic death/thrash metal sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful and the vocals they use are high pitched screams which also add in growls at times and the guitar solos and leads use melodies that are very close to traditional metal.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the thrash influences add a touch of 80's metal to the bands musical style while the high pitched screams have a black metal feeling to them and why the music has an old school vibe it still sounds very modern and one track brings in a brief use of spoken word parts and they close the ep with a cover of the Offspring's "The Kids Aren't Alright".
Mythrias plays a musical style that takes mid 90's melodic death metal and 80's thrash and mix them in with some modern elements to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Conquest, The Occult and Mythology themes.
In my opinion Mythrias are a very great sounding melodic mixture of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Absolving The Treacherous" and "Lamia". 8 out of 10.
