Mangled are a band from Atlanta, Georgia that plays a very old school form of gore/death metal with a touch of thrash and this is a review of their 2016 7 inch "Involuntary Organ Donor" which will be released in March by Boris Records.
Distorted sound effects start off the ep before adding in morbid sounding melodies that also takes the music into a heavier direction and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the riffs also bring in a great amount of thrash influences and the screams also have a touch of grind to them.
Spoken word samples can be heard briefly and on the second track death metal growls make their presence known on the recording and the music is in more of a mid tempo style of early 90's style of the genre while the music does slow down at times while also always remaining true to a heavy musical direction and there is also a brief use of fast parts and semi blast beats.
Mangled plays a style of death/gore metal that h as its roots in the mid 80's and early 90's while also mixing in a touch of thrash and grind, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover serial killing, torture and gore themes.
In my opinion Mangled are a very great sounding old school gore/death metal band with a touch of thrash and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Butchery loves Company'. 8 out of 10.
