Torture Rack are a band from Oregon that plays a gnarly form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Barbaric Persecution" which was released by Memento Mori.
Distorted guitars start of the album along with some horror movie samples and melodic guitar leads and after the intro the music goes for more of a fast and brutal death metal direction along with some growls and a great amount of blast beats and the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's style of the genre.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and as the album morbid sounding melodies can be heard in certain sections of the songs and some riffs also add in a touch of old school gore/grind and the whole album also remains very heavy and brutal from beginning to ending of the recording.
Torture Rack plays a style of death metal that is very brutal while also old school in the 90's tradition along with a touch of grind, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover torture and death themes.
In my opinion Torture Rack are a very great sounding gnarly death metal band and if you are a fan of the musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Talent For Torture" "Chamber Of Morbidity" "Sentenced To Gang Rape" and "Beheaded For The Bloodbath". 8 out of 10.
