Post-Mortem are a band from France that plays a very brutal form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "God With Horns" which was released by Great Dane Records.
Spoken word samples, hospital sounds and synths start off the album and after the intro the music goes into a very fast and brutal death metal direction along with a great amount of blast beats and growling vocals and you can also hear a small amount of melody in the guitar riffing in some parts of the songs.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads also remain true to a very brutal style of death metal while also being very melodic at the same time and when high pitched screams are utilized they give the music a touch of grind and clean singing can also be heard briefly on one of the tracks while later songs also bring in a small amount of synths, clean playing and spoken word parts.
Post-Mortem plays a style of brutal death metal that is a little bit more different than most bands of this genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violent, gore and scientific themes.
In my opinion Post-Mortem are a very great sounding death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Spinetrophy" "Eat The Cadaver" and "Void Millenium Genesis". 8 out of 10.
