Life's December are a band from Switzerland that plays a down tempo form of deathcore and this is a review of their 2016 album "Colder" which was released by Dark Wings.
Dark sound effects start off the album along with some spoken word samples and distorted sounds before adding in heavy guitar riffs that bring in deathcore breakdowns and high pitched screams and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody.
Blast beats can be heard in the faster sections of the songs and there are also a great amount of growls and hardcore style vocals and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some riffs also bring in a touch of djent and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean playing and classical guitars and when the solos and leads are done in a melodic musical direction.
Life's December plays a style that is less brutal and more mid tempo than most bands of this genre bringing in a lighter yet still heavy take on the style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, angry and melancholic themes.
In my opinion Life's December are a very great sounding down tempo deathcore and if you are a fan of this genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lest I Forget" "Snow Falls Silently" and "Colder". 8 out of 10.
